Photographer & Curator based in Melbourne, Australia

I’ve spent my life creating in some form—from collage in Montessori kindergarten in Melbourne to high school in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where I first experimented with early digital photography in the mid-1990s. During an internship with artist Jane Everhart, I was introduced to oil painting, gouache, Chinese calligraphy, gestural drawing, still life, and university life drawing classes. I went on to study 2D and 3D design, graphic design, and art history at SCAD in Savannah, Georgia, formalising my understanding of visual structure, spatial relationships, and composition.

Living in the United States and studying the collections of major art museums across New York, Chicago, and Detroit, alongside formative travels through Europe and Japan, deeply shaped my visual literacy and curatorial perspective on landscape, architecture, and editorial design.

After many years working in hospitality as a manager and sommelier—photographing continuously throughout—I founded Photo Books Now (PBN) to review contemporary photobooks and engage deeply with independent photobook publishing.

In recent years, my life and practice changed dramatically following a diagnosis and treatment for cancer. Navigating that experience fundamentally altered my relationship with time, slowing my pace and shifting my focus toward impermanence, quiet observation, and the overlooked details of our surrounding environments. While PBN is currently on pause, this pivotal shift brought a renewed, deliberate focus to my own documentary image-making and curatorial projects.

Today, my work centers on Melbourne’s urban landscapes, suburban transformation, and regional transitions—bringing a thoughtful curatorial eye to archival fine art prints, handcrafted timber editions, and independent publications like Intervals Magazine.
