Interval Magazine is published every two months and features eight contributors. There is no fixed theme, beyond what naturally evolves from the submissions. The magazine is not intended as a “best of”, but rather a snapshot of what’s happening now.

Fresh work is key. A concise body of images made in a short period — for example, a focused shoot exploring a single subject in one day — works particularly well, especially when it can be distilled into a small number of strong images.

I curate and design each edition to maintain a cohesive overall look. Contributors are welcome to submit as many images as they like; final image selection, sequencing, and layout are curated to fit the four-page allocation.

Submit final files as:

• JPEG, 300 dpi CMYK

• Full page: 8.25" × 10.75"

• Full spread: 17" × 10.75"

• File naming format: surname_firstname_location_YYYYMMDD.jpg

• No borders, no frames.

Contributor Allocation:
Each contributor receives 4 pages of images and 1 page of text.
Image pages may include as many images as you like.

Contributor Limit:
Each issue is limited to eight contributors (first in, best dressed).

Pricing:
Contributors will be able to purchase a copy at cost through our print-on-demand service Blurb.Blurb discount codes will be shared when available.

Text Submission:
Introduction text: maximum 400 words.

Image Size (pixel equivalent):
Full page size corresponds to approx. 2475 × 3225 px at 300 ppi.
Full spread corresponds to approx. 5100 × 3225 px at 300 ppi.

If you’re unsure of how to prepare images for print, please get in touch or look up some tutorials. It’s really important to make sure the images are the right size to ensure the publication has a uniform image quality throughout.
